How many Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy blades are there?
Eight base blades. Heritage Pack adds a ninth (Minoan Sword / Hero's Blade) that is optional for trophies.
This Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy blades page is the sword checklist for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy from Asobo Studio / Focus Entertainment: eight base blades for Plunderer / Adaptable, plus the optional Heritage Pack Minoan Sword (community label: Hero's Blade). You equip one blade at a time in the Sophia menu; each adds a technique perk that changes finishers and pressure. Verified August 28, 2026 · Steam App 2713000.

Every optional Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy blades tomb follows the same tell: a warrior monument with a sword silhouette, an axe glyph on the floor, and a sealed crypt that wants Sphere light alignment or a pedestal. Story blades skip the hunt — they drop into your inventory when the chapter says so.

Blade tombs use the big hero chest behind a monument puzzle. Charm chests are the small ground boxes that auto-apply passives — do not confuse the two when you are sweeping a room. Full Charm family math lives on charms.
Missed a crypt? Finish the current chapter, then replay via chapter select — fixed blades carry forward. That is different from Resonance Points, which do not stack across replays for the 165 full-tree goal (resonance points).
Once you can spot monuments, use the confirmed name table below instead of guessing sword fantasy names.
Community location guides (PowerPyx and cross-checks) lock these eight base names. Effect text below is community-observed — treat exact percentages as TBA until your live tooltip matches.

| Blade | Chapter / beat | Technique (community) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rusty Sword | Ch. 1 Blood Ties · story | None / starter | Auto unlock when combat opens |
| Falchion | Ch. 2 Felons · The Carnival | Momentum Strike — bonus damage after a Critical | Story barrel / boat beat · also unlocks Grapnel |
| Kopis | Ch. 4 From Hell It Rose · Puzzles and traps | Stagger Blow — last combo hit adds stun | First explore tomb · pedestal opens crypt |
| Greek Sword | Ch. 5 Desolation It Wrought · The four symbols | Spinning Slash — Critical becomes a sweep (no dagger finisher) | Bull pillar + three-color Sphere on ruins |
| Sica | Ch. 6 What Lies Beneath · The Architect | Focus Rush — kills fill Focus gauge | Side tunnel + light platforms after cliff cutscene |
| Khopesh | Ch. 7 Death It Sowed · The whole damn army | Deep Bleed — last hit applies DoT | Left of big open area · easier pillar align |
| Broken Spear | Ch. 9 · Hunted | Sprint Assault — spring attack pierces guards / shields | Immediate left path when the chase beat starts |
| Xiphos | Ch. 10 Parallel Paths · In the plunderers' wake | Parry Break — more stun on parry; block removed | Far-right cave · smash vases for hidden blue gem |
Chapter titles can differ slightly between UI languages and third-party guides. Trust the sub-chapter objective line and the monument cue more than a single English chapter subtitle. If your tracker shows 7/8, replay the chapter with the empty blade slot in chapter select.
Adaptable wants a kill with each base blade. A safe farm pattern community uses: clear one trash enemy, reload checkpoint, swap blade, repeat — you cannot change weapons during combat.
Next: map those technique names to the fight types you actually hate.

Blades are a loadout choice, not a stacking inventory. Pick the perk that matches the room: last-hit stun for armored blockers, bleed for longer trades, Focus rush for ability spam, sweep for packs, parry-break for yellow-heavy duels.
| If the fight looks like… | Try | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Blocked / armored soldiers | Kopis (Stagger Blow) | Last hit of the 3-string pays stun — finish combos |
| Long trades, chunky elites | Khopesh (Deep Bleed) | DoT only procs on the final hit — do not cancel early |
| You want Focus skills often | Sica (Focus Rush) | Kills refund Focus — pair with aggressive clears |
| Crowds after a Critical | Greek Sword (Spinning Slash) | Sweep replaces dagger finisher — AoE over single stab |
| Shields after a spring attack | Broken Spear (Sprint Assault) | Pierces guard on the charged approach |
| You live on yellow parries | Xiphos (Parry Break) | Extra stun on parry — you lose normal block |
| You just unlocked Criticals | Falchion (Momentum Strike) | Rewards landing Criticals with bonus damage |
| Tutorial / no perk needed | Rusty Sword | Fine until Falchion; swap as soon as you have options |
Sophia's basic string is three hits. Khopesh bleed and Kopis stun only care about hit three. Habit: commit the string or intentionally reset — half-swings waste the blade perk you equipped for.
Timeline swaps into Theseus do not carry Sophia blades, charms, or skill spends. Expect a separate limited kit and keep yellow/red discipline without your favorite sword crutch. Melee language still matches combat.
If you own Heritage Pack, the optional ninth blade sits beside this list — it is not a tenth trophy requirement.
The Heritage Pack (pre-order / store DLC) adds the Minoan Sword. Guides also label it Hero's Blade. It unlocks in the same Chapter 2 Carnival beat as Falchion for owners. It is not required for Plunderer or Adaptable.
| Item | What community / store copy says | Trophy impact |
|---|---|---|
| Minoan Sword / Hero's Blade | Store-facing copy: every third attack can punch a strong stun; some guides call it a Falchion-like Momentum variant — confirm live tooltip | Optional — uninstall DLC only if a buggy Adaptable fix asks for it |
| Alec's Pendant | Heritage charm-side bonus that boosts Charm attributes | Not a blade · appears in Charms UI |
| Digital artbook | Cosmetic / extras | Irrelevant to combat trophies |
Buy or skip Heritage for cosmetics and the extra sword feel. The eight base blades are the trophy set. If Adaptable fails to pop after eight kills, community notes sometimes recommend removing Heritage Pack content and repeating one kill per blade — treat that as a last-resort fix, not a normal path.
Heritage does not replace Greek Sword, Sica, Khopesh, Broken Spear, or Xiphos. Keep sweeping monuments even if the Minoan Sword is already in your menu.
Cups that care about the eight swords are next.
Two combat-adjacent cups sit on this list. Neither needs the Heritage sword.
| Trophy / achievement | Requirement | Practical tip |
|---|---|---|
| Plunderer | Collect all 8 base blades from Heroes' Graves | Chapter select if a tracker slot is empty |
| Adaptable | Get a kill with each of the 8 base blades | Swap outside combat · farm one enemy + reload checkpoint |
While you tomb-hunt, open every small Charm chest on the same pass. Superstitious wants all 30 charms; stacking passives also make Adaptable farming safer. Route hub: collectibles.
When the sword list is done, slot Charm families so your chosen blade actually gets to finish strings.
